Located in the breathtaking Træna archipelago, far out at sea on the Norwegian coast, Ytri Island Retreat is a destination unlike any other. With 38 exclusive rooms, a Michelin Key-ambitious hotel, a Michelin-ambitious restaurant, sauna facilities, and a private marina, we aim to deliver world-class experiences rooted in nature, authenticity, and the unique atmosphere of the Arctic seascape.

We're a sustainability-led kitchen, caring equally for the health of our guests and the joy of their experience. We are now looking for two Breakfast Chefs to join our kitchen team.

These positions are available immediately:

• 1 Permanent Full-Time Position
• 1 Full-Time 2-Month Contract, with the opportunity to extend into a permanent position.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute a high-quality breakfast service in close collaboration with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Prepare and present our signature breakfast, including a set breakfast, a small buffet of seasonal extras, eggs cooked to order, and freshly baked items.
• Ensure every breakfast reflects the quality, hospitality, and attention to detail that define Ytri Island Retreat.
• Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, organisation, food safety, and sustainability throughout daily operations.
• Contribute ideas and creativity to the continuous development of our breakfast experience.

Qualifications

• Culinary education or relevant kitchen experience is an advantage, but not essential.
• Passion for quality ingredients and beautiful presentation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• A team player with a professional and service-minded attitude.
• Fluent in English. Scandinavian language skills are an advantage.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for chefs who are passionate about French-Nordic cuisine, local ingredients, and sustainable, creative cooking.

You are reliable, hardworking, and motivated to grow within an ambitious international team. You enjoy working collaboratively, take pride in your craft, and are comfortable living and working in a remote yet spectacular natural environment.

Most importantly, you understand that breakfast is the first culinary experience of the day and take pride in creating memorable mornings for every guest.
