About the position

🍴 A la Carte Chef – Join Gjøa Sjømat in Rosendal (ASAP to mid‑September) Location: Rosendal (Odda) area, Western Norway Position: A la Carte Chef (1 position) – Full‑time, minimum 40 hours/week Start: Immediately – until mid‑September (approx. September 15)

About the Restaurant: Gjøa Sjømat is a newly renovated, cozy seafood restaurant in Rosendal with a passion for serving high‑quality seafood from Western Norway, complemented by selected meat dishes. We also offer a dedicated kids’ menu. Our team also operates a new bistro in Odda, opening soon in the former town square location (Aaks Bistro).

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced A la Carte Chef with a genuine passion for seafood and local ingredients

  • Comfortable creating traditional seafood and meat dishes, and open to collaborating on seasonal menu ideas

  • Able to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced kitchen with excellent hygiene standards (HACCP)

  • Strong English communication skills; Norwegian a plus

  • Work availability ASAP through mid‑September, at least 40 hours per week with flexibility for evenings/weekends

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and plate high‑quality a la carte seafood and meat dishes following established standards

  • Daily mise en place and preparation for lunch and dinner service

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in line with our kitchen standards

  • Assist with menu development and collaborate with kitchen and service teams to deliver excellent guest experiences

  • Support smooth operations during busy service periods

Practical Information

  • Contract duration: Starting ASAP until approximately September 15
  • Workload: Minimum 40 hours/week, including peak hours (evenings, weekends)
  • Accommodation: Free, conveniently located near the restaurant (Rosendal/Odda area)
