About the position
🍴 A la Carte Chef – Join Gjøa Sjømat in Rosendal (ASAP to mid‑September) Location: Rosendal (Odda) area, Western Norway Position: A la Carte Chef (1 position) – Full‑time, minimum 40 hours/week Start: Immediately – until mid‑September (approx. September 15)
About the Restaurant: Gjøa Sjømat is a newly renovated, cozy seafood restaurant in Rosendal with a passion for serving high‑quality seafood from Western Norway, complemented by selected meat dishes. We also offer a dedicated kids’ menu. Our team also operates a new bistro in Odda, opening soon in the former town square location (Aaks Bistro).
What We’re Looking For

Experienced A la Carte Chef with a genuine passion for seafood and local ingredients

Comfortable creating traditional seafood and meat dishes, and open to collaborating on seasonal menu ideas

Able to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced kitchen with excellent hygiene standards (HACCP)

Strong English communication skills; Norwegian a plus

Work availability ASAP through mid‑September, at least 40 hours per week with flexibility for evenings/weekends

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and plate high‑quality a la carte seafood and meat dishes following established standards

Daily mise en place and preparation for lunch and dinner service

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in line with our kitchen standards

Assist with menu development and collaborate with kitchen and service teams to deliver excellent guest experiences

Support smooth operations during busy service periods
Practical Information
- Contract duration: Starting ASAP until approximately September 15
- Workload: Minimum 40 hours/week, including peak hours (evenings, weekends)
- Accommodation: Free, conveniently located near the restaurant (Rosendal/Odda area)
