🍺 Join Our Team at Den Gamle Major – We're Hiring a Chef! 👩🍳
Den Gamle Major, a historic brown pub in Majorstuen, Oslo, is seeking a talented chef to enhance our culinary team. This is a full-time position (100%) starting on September 16, 2026. Untill the end of the year. With a chance to work in a larger company with many more bars opening up further on. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
🔍 What We Look For
- Passion for creating memorable dining experiences for our guests
- Ability to prepare dishes according to established routines and profitability goals
- Experience in daily mise en place, lunches, and event catering
- Knowledge of food handling, hygiene, and safety standards
- Capacity to follow our culinary concept and maintain high standards
- Team player who fosters collaboration between the kitchen, service, and bar
- Understanding of fluent Norwegian or English
🎯 Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with our gastropub concept
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Contribute to menu development and uphold our culinary standards
- Assist in the daily mise en place and preparation for service
- Maintain compliance with hygiene protocols and best practices
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
